“Breaking The Rules” - Out Now!

Well it's been two years in the making, but I've finally finished my seventh album.

I never really set out to write a break beat album to start with, the idea sort of grew on me when I decided to try and write a 132BPM break beat track.

I'd already written 'Dance Machine' a good 6 months prior, but was mainly inspired when another artist (DJ - ELAN), told me how good a break beat track he thought 'Hands On You' was, originally released on the 'Four' album.

It was a bit odd to me as I personally never thought of 'Hands On You' as a break beat track, and so decided to ask what people thought made a break beat tune, and the most said a 132BPM.

I loaded up my sequencer, set a 132BPM and started work, which incidently was the tune that became 'Oblivion', though it ended up being the last track I finished, but there's irony for you!

Over the months I dipped in and out of tracks, as well as deciding to include some I'd already written, such as 'Pigeon Holed', 'House Music' and 'Tech Me', though I did re-work them.

Well now that I've finally finished the album, I wonder what's next for me? Perhaps I'll take some time out, seven albums in anyone's portfolio - famous or not, is still quite an achievement!

I'm sure it won't be long before I get those itches to start work on something new, though I have no idea what genre it'll be next time.

Before I start work on another album, I'm going to have to invest in some new samples, that I'm sure of!

I might have 100's of Gigabytes of samples, but it just never seems enough, especially when it comes to keys and vocals!
